Muse 64 / CFC131

Stamps: Geometric Style 2 (Clearly Besotted); It's Your Day (HA)
Ink: Tangelo, Dandelion (Memento); Tumbled Glass (Ranger Distress)
Dies: Lovely Layers (PTI); Borders 1 (PS)

Mojo has been a bit of a no-show this week.  This was inspired by Marion Vagg at Muse, & fits the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge too.
I discovered there is definitely an order to doing inlaid die-cuts.  Start at the back!
As usual, dithered over the sentiment.  Got as far as mounting on sticky pads before I made up my mind.  Still not convinced...  Who said CAS cards are easy?

Guesting at CAS-ual Fridays Stamps

Stamps: Rad (CAS-ual Fridays); Abstract Art (MFT)
Ink: Tangelo, Lady Bug, London Fog (Memento)
As part of my winners package from CAS-ual Fridays in March, I get to feature MY stuff on THE CAS-UAL FRIDAYS BLOG.  Me.  Where all the cool kids hang out.  How awesome is that?
I was sooooo excited when my parcel came through the post.  I had been planning this card ever since I chose the rad stamp set.  Still took me several attempts to get the inking right though.
I had an epiphany when it came to lining up the paint splatters on the 2 layers:
  • temporarily adhere the top to the bottom, mark where it goes
  • remove top & stamp splatters on bottom (not my bottom...)
  • temporarily adhere acetate to bottom layer
  • place top layer on acetate in previously marked position
  • line up stamps so they fit over existing images
  • stamp
  • remove top & acetate (clean & save for another time), permanently fix top to bottom

And now for my next card, a much simpler affair...
Stamps: Bold Wishes (CAS-ual Fridays)
Ink: Lime Green, Soft Pool (HA)
Other:square punch; Diamond Stickles (Ranger)
Yup, just the 2 inks.  The lime green is a new purchase from SSS, with the other part of my CFC prize.  The pale green is a second generation stamping of the lime green (& if I'm being really honest, I think I prefer it).  The bluey green is a happy accident of the 'whoops-I-didn't-clean-my-stamp-properly' kind.  A couple of simple spacer pieces helped to keep the squares even & true.

Thanks again to CAS-ual Fridays for the great prizes & for the fantastic challenges that they keep coming up with which allow us all to share in the fun.

Paper Smooches SPARKS

Stamps: Free Spirits (PS); Geometric Style 2 (CB)
Ink: Tangelo, Rosebud, Bahama Blue (Memento); Soft Pool (HA)
Die: Birthday Words (PS), Card Curve (SSS)
Other: Diamond & Rock Candy Stickles (Ranger)
I started trying to do this card with die-cuts but it was waaay too fiddly, so I went the stamping route.  I like the way the overlapping stamps allow you to see through, as you would with glass.
The banner is made using the back of the lemon slice stamp in Free Spirits, then masked & stamped over in the same colour with the spots & stripes.

I think it's pretty easy to see where my inspiration came from.  I defy anyone not to be cheered by this colour combination!

Scientist card

Dies: Rounded Tag, Geometric Style 2 (Clearly Besotted)
Font: Migraine Sans
Other: Anita's 3D Gloss
My brother-in-law is a chemist.  He keeps a whole wall of chemistry tomes in his spare room, along with his guests.  On a recent visit, I was inspired by the symbol on many of the spines.

I created & cut the ovals with my Silhouette SD, then added the electrons & nucleus from the dies listed.  A quick google of 'atom puns' gave me the finishing touch.  A geek of a card, but I know just where to send it!
